I am happy that today my dear Chloe started her first steps. She is now confident walking without a support. Her first step is very challenging in her part. I know how she tried not to fall. She really try to distribute her weight so she could balance as she walk. The first step she made was very slow, she tries to feel her feet as it touch to the floor. She wear bear footed as she walk. I cannot explain how I feel looking at her. It is a mixed emotions. I’m happy that she could walk and afraid that she may fall. But I also train myself that I should let her fall and be hit so she will learn how to control herself and learn how to handle that situation.
Sickness
One of the reasons why babies becomes sick because of teething. August 9, 2010. Chloe has a low grade fever due to newly sprouted teeth. August 10,her temperature increases up to 38.7 degree Celsius. She was very hot. I gave her paracetamol beogesic drops. In the morning, August 11, we decided to see her pediatrician to check her status. During the said check up, the doctor ask me if there is loss of appetite, whether her temperature reached at 40. I replied “No”. Then she said that the her fever is just a low grade. We must observe until tomorrow, (August 12) whether she will still have a fever. If that happens, Chloe must undergone CBC. She gave me a request form for CBC, urinalysis, and stool exam. This is to make sure that there is no complications, pass urinalysis (for she has the history of (UTI)
On that day, August 12, I was absent from my class because I need to attend my baby first before anything else. I know, most of the mothers out there understands how I felt. When we went home from the hospital, she seems to be active and very happy baby. I was just lucky that though Chloe is underweight, she’s has full of energy.
After we ate lunch and paying for urinalysis and stool exam, we went to University of Cebu for I need to get the test questions and table of specification for there were errors that I need to correct. After which, we went home. I wash her mounts veneris then place the u-bag. Then, we sleep. After 20 -30 minutes of sleep, we were awake because she cried. She peed on u-bag. So, I quickly get it and place it to the canister. I went directly to the hospital for the urine should be in the lab within 30 minutes after peeing. When I am about to go home, Susan ,my helper texted me that Chloe poops. I just told her not to get it as a sample for she uses a diaper. Then, I just went home.
Chloe seems okay that day. I felt better looking at her that she his active though we closely monitor her temperature.
